# Ridekick API > One versioned API returns the out-the-door prices from a buyer's own requests, each with its state, lowest written price first within each trim, with a dealership not named to a connected assistant until the buyer has unlocked or picked it (every locked row is labelled by its car). It reads. It does not contact a dealer, accept an offer or complete a purchase. Reading uses the buyer's own signed-in Ridekick session. The two read endpoints also accept the access token a buyer gave an assistant she approved. API keys are not available. Every page below is Markdown. A buyer connects an assistant to Ridekick's MCP server at https://www.ridekick.com/api/mcp, and signs in with OAuth. ## Guides - [Authentication](https://docs.ridekick.com/authentication.md): How a read signs in: the buyer's own session, or the access token a buyer gave an assistant. - [Requests](https://docs.ridekick.com/deal-sets.md): A request is one ask to several dealers, with the prices that come back. - [Errors](https://docs.ridekick.com/errors.md): Every error code, its HTTP status, and whether to retry. - [Rate limits](https://docs.ridekick.com/rate-limits.md): How many reads and writes are allowed, per buyer, per window. - [Versioning](https://docs.ridekick.com/versioning.md): The version header, additive changes, and what never to branch on. - [Connect ChatGPT](https://docs.ridekick.com/connect-chatgpt.md): How a buyer adds Ridekick to ChatGPT by its server address, signs in, and what to say first. - [Connect Claude](https://docs.ridekick.com/connect-claude.md): How a buyer adds Ridekick to Claude as a custom connector, signs in, and what to say first. - [Deadlines](https://docs.ridekick.com/deadlines.md): How long a read waits before answering unavailable, and how listing is bounded. ## MCP server - [MCP server](https://docs.ridekick.com/mcp.md): The address, protocol revisions, sign-in and tool list of the Ridekick MCP server. - [How Ridekick works](https://docs.ridekick.com/mcp/explain.md): The tool that explains Ridekick and the rules for its tools.
